The
GALI air starters are intended for use
on internal combustion engines and gas
turhines.
For their size and weight, these are
extremely powerful starters, and they
feature as well high torque, high pinion
speed, low air consumption and reduced
maintenance.
The GALI starters can be operated at
a pressure ranging from 3 to 0.6 MPa
(435 to 87 Ibf/in2), allowing thus for
a considerable starting reserve and
for the use of low capacity air receivers.
The prompt response and the high speed
of the GALI starters ensure the engine
attains its ignition speed in a few
instants, therefore increasing the efficiency
of the starting operation.
The GALI starters are available in two
versions, viz. for clockwise and counterclockwise
rotation.
Upon request, they can be supplied in
a completely leakproof version, which
can be driven as well by gas under pressure.
The starter outlet of this version allows
the exhaust gases to be led away and
recovered for further use.
The GALI air starters are, by design,
flameproof. They are as well very resistant
to humidity, saline atmosphere and vibrations,
and they are unaffected by extreme temperatures.
The GALI starters are being succesfully
used on marine engines, general Diesel
engines of locomotives, road tankers,
forklift trucks, generating sets, compressor
sets, etc., and on gas turbines.
Likewise, they are most suitable for
engines operating under arctic conditions,
on off-shore drilling platforms, snow
ploughs and vehicles used in the petrochemical
industries and other hazardous atmospheres.
The starters are usually supplied with
a coupling flange and driving pinion (according
to the engine type), push-button valve
and servo lubricator.
